Learn More about Rats and Mice!

Anytime Animal Control is an animal damage control company comprised of the most highly trained and equiped men and women in the United States. is where you can learn more, or call 800-714-8727 to talk to a live operator 24/7
I’ll start with some questions asked by most clients about rats and mice, and the answers.
Are rats and mice dangerous?
If you are talking about the movie Willard, no. The only times I have seen a rat bite someone, it was in the face, and it was while they were asleep. It was my belief that the person bitten had the smell of tooth paste, or food on there face, and the rat was just trying to get some dinner. It only bit one time, near the mouth. As disturbing as it may have been, I realy dont thik the rat was attacking. There are some major problems caused by rats and mice. They eat food, and contaminate it with urine and fecies. They gnaw into everything! Weather to build a nest, or just to keep teeth sharp, even wires are fair game. Thats how it starts getting dangerous, with fires in the home. They, or the paracites they carry, such as fleas, mites, or worms can spread diseases. They are not socially acceptable. Rats and mice have been a problem for centuries because they have an increadable survival rate and are difficult to eliminate
How long do rats and mice live?
Only about a year in the wild, and 3-4 years in captivity. But they can have up to 84 young in a lifetime!
How can I control rodents?
Store garbage in containors with tight fitting lids.
Clean up spilled or un used pet food. The rats and mice will carry it into the walls of your home and store it there.
Keep bird feeders 50 feet from your home, and use rodent proof bird feeders. Rodents will take advantage of a free meal.
Clean up fallen fruits. If left to lay on the ground, rats will locate the area and move in.
Take away the shelter
A mouse can enter a hole the size of a nickle or smaller. Cracks in the foundation need to be filled with concrete and repaired. Screens and windows in bacements must be in good repair. Seal any holes where pipes and wires come into buildings. Repair any broken sewer lines.
Take away cover
Cleaning up the area, cutting shrubs away from the ground and keeping grass short will take away the materials that rodents use to cover there movement from animals that hunt them. Take away that comfort zone, and they will leave.
Now we have taken away the food, cover and shelter. Would you live in a place like that? Neither will they! I hope this has helped you with your rat or mouse problem. If you would like a professional to help with it, call 800-714-8727 and we will be happy to set a hassel free apointment arround your schedual.

Los Angeles Skunk Trapping,Removal, or Control? 800-714-8727

Anytime Animal Control is an animal damage control company which takes great pride in fact that we try to educate the client on ways they can reduce the chances of a re occurance of the skunk invasion. We can be found at anytimeanimalcontrol.com or by calling 800-714-8727
Sometimes the cuite little guys become a nuisance, but do you need the skunk humanely trapped, removed, or controlled? I’ll explain a little about each, and you can decide if it’s something you can do yourself, or if you need a professional to come out and help with the skunk problem you have.
Skunk Removal
This is where you have a skunk in the home, garage, or he is trapped some where needing rescue or removal. Our team is equiped with the most up to date knowlage and experiance to successfully remove skunks. If you have a skunk under your house, we wont attempt to remove it, we will place traps in places where it will need to go through. The traps are animal friendly. An actual skunk removal could result in the animal spraying to defend itself!
Skunk Control
Controlling skunks is actually controlling the behavior of skunks. They are omnivores, meanng they will eat just about anything. Fallen fruit, insects, garbage, pet food, are just a few on the long list of a skunks menu. So, picking up the fruit before sun down, keeping pet food indoors, and securing trash inside a containor with a tight lid is a great start! Other things you can do, are keeping doors closed, and making sure fences go all the way to the ground. A skunk is equiped for digging, so if he sees that a little work will gain him access, he will take advantage of the opportunity.
Skunk Trapping
Trapping skunks isn’t recomended for anyone to do unless they are ready to deal with a stinkey mess! Our professionals have the equipment to get the job done in a manner that will greatly reduce the chances of a skunk odor problem. It takes great skill and patience to do it, so if skunk trapping is what you need, leave it to the professionals at Anytime Animal Control and save yourself the mess.
Skunk Poisions
NOT AN OPTION!
You never know which animal will get it - and it will probobly die under your own house, or in a place you cant get to it. So please dont even consider using poision on any animal.
Anytime Animal Control is equiped to handle raccoons, rats, opossums, and stray cats also, among any other wild animal probem you may have. We don’t handle dog complaints, but the animal shelter in your area will be able to direct you to the local enforcement agency in your area.Technorati ProfileAdd to Technorati Favorites

Animal Control Los Angeles- Orange- San Diego

Anytime Animal Control is a company comited to helping the public in Los Angeles-Orange-and San Diego counties with nuisance wild animals. This begins by educating people on what we see in the field as the typical causes of wild life problems so they may make changes to the environment on the property in a pro active step to avoid an animal invasion. We have wildlife managers in the field which will resolve animal issues by trapping, and exclusion. We will also repair dammage caused by wildlife upon request. You may reach us at
800-714-8727 or for a list of services click www.http://anytimeanimalcontrol.com

Here we are almost into November, and the rats and squirrels are storing the nuts and seeds away for winter. They will also put away dry dog food, and whatever else looks or smells like food. When gaining access to the home, I’m seeing alot of tree limbs offering an easy way to the roof. Boganvillia are some of the rats favorite cover. they are almost invisible to natural enemies. Boxes in the garage offer cover also. Bags of dogfood in the garage are torn into on the bottom while the rats go un noticed in the effort to store it in the walls.
The dammage rats cause can be an expensive repair. I’ve seen them chew water lines to get a drink, causing a flood in the house. I’ve also responded to a call on occasion where the client was bitten in the face while they slept. My guess is that the client wasn’t attacked, but was bitten as a result of food odor or tooth paste left on the cheek or lips. It doesnt happen often, but it happens enough.

So, what kind of pro active steps can we take to avoid rats, mice, squirrels from choosing YOUR home as a place to live?
First, take away the vines crawling up the wall. Not all the way, just get them away from the roof, by about 3 feet. Now the tree branches, don’t offer any easy way for them to get up there. Cut them back at least 4 feet from the roof.
Second, don’t use pet doors unless they are petsafe doors or something like it. Rats can and will follow your pets inside.
Third, make sure the gas lines are not offering any space for a rat or mouse to get in next to it.
Fourth, store pet food in plastic bins, dont leave them in the bag. Also remember the seeds…that you put in a bird feeder? Box them up too. And be sure to get a seed catcher for that bird feeder. Birds toss seeds all over while eating. the ones that hit the ground will catch the attn. of a passing rat or squirrel, then he starts looking for nice place to live near this new grocery store!
Fifth, Get the garage so you can see everything, don’t have lots of boxes and bags all over the place. Open space makes rodents nervous, and thats what we want to do. Make sure the outside of the home is the same way.
Other than that, make sure the outside if the home is in good repair, not offering any space as big as a nickle, and you hve greatly lessoned the chance of having rodent troubles on the inside of your home.
If you ARE invaded already, please don’t use poisions. I also get lots of dead rat calls from clients who need the animal found in the walls. This is expensive to do. You are better off doing a trapping progrm, or hiring someone to trap them.
Feel free to go to anytimeanimalcontrol.com for a list of services we offer or call
