Anytime Animal Control is an animal damage control company comited to helping the public remove raccoons in urban areas. Feel free to visit our website, anytimeanimalcontrol.com to see a list of our services. Los Angeles, as strange as it may seem has many raccoon invasions every year. Orange and San Diego counties as well, and every removal process is differant. It all depends on where the animal is, what time of year it is, and if there is a litter of young raccoons. In Southern Calif. the birthing seasion is somewhere arround march-may. And the actual removal process should be carried out by a trained professional. We want very much to keep the mother and babies together. Just not in your home. She has chosen several den sites already, so after we evict the raccoon and her babies, and raccoon proof your house, she and the babies wont be back.
Building defects are the normal reasion for a raccoon to choose to den in your home. Missing chimney caps, columns with open tops, and loose fitting soffit panels near dormers are typical entry points. Have these areas checked before march and take corrective action. On occasion a raccoon will need to be removed from a dumpster. Keep those lids on and head off the problem.
Some of the worst raccoon removal jobs I’ve been on, is where the raccoon has gone right through the roof of a home. She tore the shingles, tar paper and ply wood off and made a hole as big as a socker ball. But thats a worse case, and they dont happen often.(Raccoons can be little brats sometimes!)
Then, in october- november, the skunks and raccoons start teching the young ones how to dig for grubbs in your lawn. A skunk has a better nose for these things, so she will make a small hole in the lawn about the size of a wall nut. Raccoons on the other hand, will wreck a yard over night! I recomend humane trapping in this case. A yard laid with sodd in Los Angeles can be expensive. And new sodd is just going to look like the table is set again. Get the raccoons trapped and gone before you re sod.
I hope these tips were helpfull, and you were able to take pro active steps to head off a raccoon invasion in your home. Los Angeles had over 300 raccoon removal issues on the board in 2007.

We here at Anytime Animal Control try to educate the public on typical animal species in the area, in an effort to let them be pro active about heading off a snake issue. In Los Angeles- Orange- or San Diego counties, feel free to call 800-714-8727 to hire a professional snake handler to solve your problem for you. See anytimeanimalcontrol.com for a complete list of our services.
I’ve always said that a heart attack is more lethal than a venomous snake bite. If you are realy afraid of snakes, then does it realy matter if its a Rattle Snake, or a Gopher Snake? and the truth is, that most adult venomous snakes will strike but not inject the venom. They seem to be saving the good stuff to bring prey down.
Keeping grass short will take away the cover snakes need to safely get to your home. Without cover, the hawks and owls will get them for sure.
Dont stack things inside or outside the home or garage. They will lay in there on a hot day to escape the heat. Believe it or not, all snakes are really fragile, and can die if they get too hot.
Keep garage doors closed, as well as house doors. They can’t hear you, because they have no ears. But vibration is what they feel.
Be carefull reaching where you can not see. Look first!
Anytime Animal Control will also set snake traps as well as search the property for snakes. We dont recommend you try this unless you are a trained wildlife professional.

Anytime Animal Control is a wildlife damage control company doing our best to educate the public on being pro active about wild animal issues. If after reading these helpfull tips about how to avoid having a dead animal under your home, you decide its not something you want to take on, please call 800-714-8727 to set an apointment with a wildlife professional in your area.
Most dead animal removal work I do could have been avoided, had the client been educated on the DON’T DOs so I made a list for you to refer to.
Don’t use posions around the house. The rats( which is mainly what we find) will die within the walls.
Don’t leave broken screens on crawl space entrances. Skunks and opossums will die under the home.
Don’t shoot at animals to keep them out of your yard. A shot is sometimes not lethal immediately, but later the animal dies. Just your luck it would find a place to get under your house!
Don’t do a repair on the house without first making sure you wont be locking a family of skunks or raccoons inside.
These are the major causes I see leading up to dead anmal removal. If you already have a dead animal you need located and removed, we are just a phone call away. 800-714-8727

Sometimes well meaning people feel that they are doing the right thing when its realy causing a problem for every one else on the block. Feeding feral(stray) cats because they may be hungry just draws in more cats to feed. Ive had jobs with as many as 19 feral cats to trap in one yard in San Diego. Most were in ill health. By company policy, no feral cats or other domestic animal may be euthanised by the field operator. All must be taken to the nearest nimal shelter for best chance of recovery/adoption.
The environmental impact of feral cats can be devestating! Cats will chase and kill for fun, rather than just for food. Several species of wild life are extinct in western Austrailia now because of a cat population left un checked. They kill more than mice and rats, Song birds and rabbits are on the list too. Not to mention these animals have no vaccinations, and are prone to some pretty ugly illnesses, and paracites. If you have a neighbor, please share this with them. It may seem like you aren’t doing much as one person, but as they say, inch by inch, life is synch!
Keeping feral cats out of the yard can be easy, or difficult. It depends why they are there. They will come in and lay down under bushes to escape the heat of the day, to use community toilet areas, to eat, or just because its a nice quiet place to relax.
So now you need to change the environment, to take the elements away which they seek. As stated before, no feeding cats.
Up keep on the house is important too, to keep them from living under it. Every year customers need cats removed from under the home when they could have been pro active and had a screen replaced and avoided the problem all togeather.
Trim the bushes so they are 2 feet from the ground. And don’t give them anywhere else to rest peacefully. Keep the garage door closed unless you need it open.
If the cats are using your yard for toilette, installing a scarecrow motion sprinkler may get them to choose some where else.
I hope these tips help you with your feral cat issues. If the problem is something you would rather not deal with, feel free to call 800-714-8727 and have a look at our website anytimeanimalcontrol.com

Anytime Animal Control is a company comited to helping the public in Los Angeles-Orange-and San Diego counties with nuisance wild animals. This begins by educating people on what we see in the field as the typical causes of wild life problems so they may make changes to the environment on the property in a pro active step to avoid an animal invasion. We have wildlife managers in the field which will resolve animal issues by trapping, and exclusion. We will also repair dammage caused by wildlife upon request. You may reach us at

Here we are almost into November, and the rats and squirrels are storing the nuts and seeds away for winter. They will also put away dry dog food, and whatever else looks or smells like food. When gaining access to the home, I’m seeing alot of tree limbs offering an easy way to the roof. Boganvillia are some of the rats favorite cover. they are almost invisible to natural enemies. Boxes in the garage offer cover also. Bags of dogfood in the garage are torn into on the bottom while the rats go un noticed in the effort to store it in the walls.
The dammage rats cause can be an expensive repair. I’ve seen them chew water lines to get a drink, causing a flood in the house. I’ve also responded to a call on occasion where the client was bitten in the face while they slept. My guess is that the client wasn’t attacked, but was bitten as a result of food odor or tooth paste left on the cheek or lips. It doesnt happen often, but it happens enough.
So, what kind of pro active steps can we take to avoid rats, mice, squirrels from choosing YOUR home as a place to live?
First, take away the vines crawling up the wall. Not all the way, just get them away from the roof, by about 3 feet. Now the tree branches, don’t offer any easy way for them to get up there. Cut them back at least 4 feet from the roof.
Second, don’t use pet doors unless they are petsafe doors or something like it. Rats can and will follow your pets inside.
Third, make sure the gas lines are not offering any space for a rat or mouse to get in next to it.
Fourth, store pet food in plastic bins, dont leave them in the bag. Also remember the seeds…that you put in a bird feeder? Box them up too. And be sure to get a seed catcher for that bird feeder. Birds toss seeds all over while eating. the ones that hit the ground will catch the attn. of a passing rat or squirrel, then he starts looking for nice place to live near this new grocery store!
Fifth, Get the garage so you can see everything, don’t have lots of boxes and bags all over the place. Open space makes rodents nervous, and thats what we want to do. Make sure the outside of the home is the same way.
Other than that, make sure the outside if the home is in good repair, not offering any space as big as a nickle, and you hve greatly lessoned the chance of having rodent troubles on the inside of your home.
If you ARE invaded already, please don’t use poisions. I also get lots of dead rat calls from clients who need the animal found in the walls. This is expensive to do. You are better off doing a trapping progrm, or hiring someone to trap them.

Anytime Animal Control is a company commited to helping the public with there wild animal removal needs. This starts here with educating the public on what they may do to be pro active and avoid an animal invasion. My company does live capture honey bee removal and we recomend if you do have them in the walls or roof line of your home that you call 800-714-8727 for a professional to remove them. As it can be a rather painfull lesson with out the proper equipment. To see wht other services we offer, feel free to take a look at our website anytimeanimalcontrol.com
Honey bees show up in the darndest places! I’ve taken them out of barbecues, hot tubs, compost bins, just to name a few. I prefer to work with honey bees in the early morning when they are not active, and neighbors are still asleep. The fewer people in the area the better. And this way the worker bees havent left yet and wont be left behind when I take the swarm. Ive got to get the bees, the honey and the larva to avoid another swarm from moving in after I leave, because the honey will attract ants and other pests, and honey robbers from another colony.
The best things you can do to avoid a honey bee colony from taking up residence in your home, is to pay special attn. to the following areas, as most of my jobs involve removing them from homes with minor defects.
Half of them are entering through the vent holes at the top of the wall just below the roof line. Because of the size of the mesh on the screen being 1/4 inch, a bee can easily get in. Change it to 1/8 inch galvanized hardware cloth.
Be sure ANY cracks in stucco are repaired. Home maintanance is a very important step in being pro active, especially when dealing with honey bees.
Keep chimney flues closed, and be sure you have a chimney cap.
Check hot tubs for ANY open gaps arround the outside, and seal them with silicone.
These are 90% of the defects bees use to form a hive, and I hope it will help you stop it before it starts. Honey bees can produce 1000 young each day, and 100 pounds of honey each year! so its best to do something about it right away if the bees are inside already.
Now lets talk about safety.
Many strains of honey bees will agressively defend the hive! It can get ugly real fast, so lets talk about some DON’T DOs
Don’t be in a hurry when taking compost to the bin. The heat produced by rotting vegitation makes it a suitable environment for them. Watch for bees entering and leaving, and if they are - don’t open it.
Don’t light a fire to get them out of the chimney. They could become confused and start stinging everything for a block round! Not to mention the dripping wax could become a fire hazard inside the home.
Don’t use commersial sprays to kill the bees. They will kill a few that the spray comes in contact with, but the real problem is inside, where the spray wont reach.Once again the remaining majority will attack everything out of confusion.
Don’t forget to educate your neighbors about honey bees. If they have a hive, and they continue populating beyond the capacity of the space, the hive will split and choose a near by tree, barbecue, or home.
We also offer a live honey bee trapping program to get the bees to choose one of our containers instead of the house you live in.Removing them in this manner is by far more economical than removing them from the attic or walls of your home.
I hope these tips were helpfull to you and that you will share them with a friend or neighbor.
If things get beyond your control, you can always call 800-714-8727 for a bee keeper to assist.

Often called Americas finest city, San Diego has its share of hazards to watch out for. An out of control coyote population is one of them. I hear the heart breaking stories too often. On almost a daily basis callers explain that they lost a cat or dog to a pack of coyotes, as I have as well. Personaly, I don’t agree with many animal advocates who want people to ignore the problem as if the coyotes own the land, and public safety comes secondary. Nor do I have problem with a coyote being a coyote, away from people. Its the packs in town I have a problem with.
Anytime Animal Control is an animal dammage control company commited to helping the public in urban settings. The first step is educating the public. Then mabe you can see the changes needed on your property to make the area less suitble for coyotes. If the problem is something you dont care to deal with, feel free to call 800-714-8727 to make an apointment with a trained wild life professional
A few years ago San Diego county was having some real issues with urban coyotes. Cats and dogs were missing or mauled, as well as several people being bitten as well. I personaly took the job, and within 30 days I captured and removed 153 coyotes. One pack had 22 members, meaning strength in numbers, they could kill and eat pretty much anything they wanted to, and they did. That was a worse case project that was left out of control for too long. Furthermore, an elderly man on the block had a soft spot for them and he was feeding them in his back yard. Carrying capacity of the land was made stronger by him, so they made more little coyotes.
Back before the area had so many comunities, San Diego realy didn’t have much to offer a coyote. So they numbered fewer. But now with irrigation, sod, fruit trees, bird feeders, and pet food bowls, a coyote can get a good meal without traveling far.
Let me explain how it works. The coyote will eat grain left out for birds in he has to… but the rats and squirrels are of more interest to him. And the bird feeder made the rats and squirrels take interest.
Now, why do coyotes kill dogs? The coyote is territorial and is trying to eliminate competition. Also, they want to be sure the young are safe from others who may harm them.
Carrying a cane or stick while walking a dog can stop a cotote attack. The attack will be started and done in seconds, so be decisive, and agressive! It doesn’t take much more than a hard TAP on a coyotes snout to make him lay down, this will give you 30-40 seconds to find out how fast you can run before he wakes up. Many a dog walker in San Diego has come home wishing he had a coyote stick with him.
A 6 foot fence can be jumped by a coyote, or he can dig under, so burry the bottom and go 7 ft.
No pet food left out over night.
Pick up fallen fruit every evening with out fail.
If you have cats claws removed, keep it in the house. It can’t defend itself or climb to safety.
Be sure the under side of your deck or home is completely closed off.Remember, you control coyote movement by controling food supply. And having rats and skunks living under there is an invite.
Encourage others to do the same! It must be concerted effort to keep the neighborhood safe.
If the following tips don’t resolve your issue, and it is too far out of control for you to deal with, feel free to call 800-714-8727 to have a professional coyote trapper humanely remove the animals. Re-locating coyotes is not effective, so company policy strictly enforces that ALL coyotes captured are humanely euthanised.

ot offer her any. Make sure every screen is in good shape thats covering the crawl space access. Decks are a favorite, so lets get them closed off too. You can use wood or wire, but what ever you use, make sure it goes below the surface of the soil by at least 6 inches. Skunks can dig!
Pick up any fallen fruit daily.
Do not leave pet dishes with food in them outside.
Skunks will eat anything ,including rats, mice, insects, fruit, birds, and eggs, just to mention a few.
They are not realy fast or strong, which is why they have the ability to shoot essance up to 15 feet!
If they didnt stink, they would be extinct. Now if you are unfortunate enough to get gassed by pe -pe le pew, dont give up hope! It will wash off. Don’t bother with the clothes, bag em and toss em. But on your body, a mixture of peroxide and dawn dish washing liquid will break it down and wash it away.
1 qt peroxide
4 oz. dawn
Mix in a bucket
Use like soap with a sponge and do not add water untill time to rinse.
Repeat if nessesary
I use this solution to clean my dog up after he gets into a dis agreement with Mr. Skunk and highly recomend it to anyone.
Now that we have taken away the food and shelter, lets get the water too. We dont want him to have ANY reasion to visit your home. All animals need food-shelter-water to survive, and in places with none of the above, he will probobly keep right on moving.
I hope this was helpfull to you, and feel free to call 800-714-8727 to see wht other services we offer.

Anytime Animal Control is an animal damage control company comited to helping people all over Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties control urban wild life. Its sun down in Los Angeles, and the raccoons are just strting the night shift. Ma Ma and her young will spend the next several hours looking into every garbage can- pet bowl nd dumpster for food. They have a keen sence of smell, but are more of a sight hunter, and a feeler. When they go after the grubbs under your lawn, they work side by side, with noses pointed up at the sky. Raccoons are adapted to see well at night, and bright lights hurt there eyes, however on an overcast day, a hungry one may be seen foraging.
They can be cuite, but distructive as well! Koi fish or pet birds as large as chickens could be on the menu. They’re omnivorous meaning that they will eat……just about anything. And they are curious. Quite often Ive had clients wonder why all the flower pots are tipped over in the morning.
First and formost, I want everyone reading this to be careful when the masked bandit is near. They look cuite, but can inflict great bodily harm when cornered or seperated from her young, not to mention the shots you will need after the initial wound is dealt with.
Now lets get on with making Rocky Raccoon feel a little less at home in YOUR home.
Animals all require food. Don’t offer any food and they keep on going. They want a food source as close to a den as possible so they dont need to travel so far. Food ror a raccoon comes in the form of fallen fruit, a dog dish left out over night, or a loose fitting garbage lid giving the oportunist a free lunch. Be sure to bring in the dog or cat dish at dusk, put a bungi strap on the garbage can, and pick up the fruit on a daily basis.
Raccoons need water to swallow what they eat,In areas where water is scarce, ive used a white bowl of water for bait with incredable results! Either eliminte the source, or guard it. By guarding it I mean to instll one of many products to stop animals from getting to it. Im not a big fan of chemicals, ive just never seen them work consistantly so I wont recomend them. A physical barier such as fencing, or a low voltage electric fence which is solar powered by a company called HOTWIRE has had some good reports of success. Scarecrow is a sprinkler system which has a motion detector to blast the animal with water when he wasn’t expecting it. Also good tool.
Raccoons need shelter. Keep the garage door closed when it doesn’t need to be open, check all around the lower level of the home to ensure that the salty air in Los Angeles hasn’t rusted the crawl space covers. And trim shrubbs and trees 3 ft from any roof line. This will help deny them access to the attic. Dont forget chimney caps’ s raccoons love living inside of them.
Eliminate the basic needs from being met, and the raccoons will have a much better chance of choosing someplace else to set up house.
I hope these tips were helpfull to you in heading off a raccoon invasion within your property. Feel free to go to our web site listed below to see what services Anytime Animal Control has to offer, or call 800-714-8727
